Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A person who is disheveled, dusty and driven away from doors (maybe so close to Allah) that if he swears by Allah, He will definitely fulfill it for him."
Narrated by Muslim"A disheveled, dusty and driven away from doors person (maybe so close to Allah) that if he swears by Allah, He would definitely fulfill it for him." He is disheveled because he does not own anything to oil or comb his hair with, nor does he care about his appearance. His body and clothes are dusty due to his extreme poverty. He is driven away from doors because he is of no social standing, so if he knocks on someone's door, they do not let him in; rather, they turn him away because he has no value to them. However, he has value in the sight of Allah, to the level that if he were to swear by Allah, Allah would answer him. In other words, if he says: "By Allah, such and such will or will not happen", it indeed will or will not happen. Allah grants him what he swears by because of his honorable status with Allah. The scale to measure someone's status in Allah's sight is his piety and mindfulness of Allah, as Allah says in the Qur'an: {Indeed the best amongst you in the sight of Allah are the most pious amongst you} [Sūrat al-Hujurāt: 13]. The more pious a person is, the more honored he is in Allah's sight. Allah will makes his affairs easy, answers his supplication, relieve his distress, and grant him what he swears by. That pious person would not swear by Allah regarding injustice towards anyone. He would not dare to challenge Allah in His dominion. He only swears by Allah regarding what pleases Allah or in lawful things, out of his confidence and reliance upon Allah, the Almighty.
Abu Yahya Khuraym ibn Fātik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Whoever spends something in the cause of Allah, it will be recorded for him as much as seven hundred times.”
Narrated by At-Termedhy - An-Nasaa’i - Narrated by AhmadSpending anything small or little in the cause of Allah, be that in jihad or in anything that is good or helps obey Allah, yields multiplied reward up to seven hundred times on the Day of Judgment.
‘Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that he heard the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "No Muslim visits a (sick) Muslim early in the morning but seventy thousand angels send blessings upon him until evening comes, and if he visits him in the evening, seventy thousand angels will send blessings upon him until morning comes, and he will have a share of reaped fruits in Paradise.”
Narrated by Ibn Majah - Narrated by At-Termedhy - Narrated by Abu Daoud - Narrated by AhmadThis Hadīth proves that when a person visits his sick Muslim brother, it is as if he is in the fruitful gardens of Paradise, and Allah's blessings are numerous. It is proof that visiting the sick is a virtuous deed. If it takes place in the morning, then his reward will be that seventy thousand angels send blessings upon him until evening comes, and if it takes place in the evening, his reward will be that seventy thousand angels send blessings upon him until morning comes.
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I saw a man enjoying himself in Paradise for cutting a tree that was in the middle of the road and harming Muslims.'' Another narration reads: "A man passed by a branch of a tree lying in the middle of a road, so he said: 'By Allah, I will move this away from the path of Muslims so that it would not harm them.' So he was admitted to Paradise.'' A third narration reads: "While a man was walking on a road, he saw a thorny branch on the road and he removed it, so Allah was thankful to him so He granted him forgiveness.''
Muslim with its two versions - Narrated by Bukhari & MuslimThe Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) saw a man moving around in Paradise because of cutting a tree that was harming Muslims. Another narration of the Hadīth says that a man was admitted to Paradise and Allah granted him forgiveness because of a branch that he removed from the path of Muslims, whether the branch was dangling from a tree and harming their heads or lying on the road and harming their legs. He removed it away from their path, so Allah was thankful to him for doing that and He admitted him into Paradise.
Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: 'It was said to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him): "What do you think of a man who does a good deed and people praise him for it?" He said: "That is instant good news for the believer."
Narrated by MuslimHere we are told of a man who does a righteous deed for the sake of Allah, without intending it for others. People, however, commend him and say that he is a charitable person, etc. The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) says that such an appreciation is an instant good news for the believer, because people are witnesses over Allah's creation, so their testimony does count. That is why when a coffin passed by the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and his Companions spoke well of the deceased, he said that they confirmed that he would be admitted to Paradise. Also, when another coffin passed by him and the Companions spoke badly of the deceased, the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said that they confirmed that he would be admitted to Hell. In both cases, he justified that people are Allah's witnesses on earth. So, the commendation that a believer gets from people for the good thing that he does is an instant good news for him in the world. However, the one who does something ostentatiously to draw people's attention and favorable remarks, has thus associated partners with Allah. This is what makes the other sincere person greatly different from him.
Ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'If a slave serves his master sincerely and worships Allah properly, he will have a double reward.'" Abu Mūsa al-Ash‘ari (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A slave who worships his Lord properly and discharges his duties towards his master, and is sincere and obedient to him will get a double reward."
Al-Bukhari and Muslim with its two versionsIf a slave carries out his duties towards his master, serving and obeying him in what is good and being sincere to him, and performs the obligations and shuns the prohibitions laid down by Allah, the Almighty, he shall have a double reward on the Day of Judgment. This is because he is under two obligations: 1. To fulfill the rights of his master, and if he does so, he will get a reward. 2. To obey his Lord, and if he does so, he will get a reward.
Ma‘qil ibn Yasār (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Worship during times of turmoil is like emigration to me.”
Narrated by MuslimMeaning of the Hadīth: The virtue of the one who holds fast to worship during times of excessive tribulation, confusion, and mutual killing is like the virtue of the one who emigrated to the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) before the Conquest of Makkah. His situation is analogous to that of the emigrant who fled with his religion from those who hindered him from adhering to it, aiming to hold fast to the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him). Likewise, the one who secludes himself for the purpose of devoting himself to Allah's worship has fled with his religion from people, holding fast to the worship of his Lord. By so doing, he, in fact, has emigrated to his Lord and fled from all of His creation.
Mu‘ādh ibn Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Never does the son of Adam do any deed that can save him from Allah's punishment more than remembering Allah.”
Ibn Abi Shaybah - At-Tabaraani - Narrated by Ahmad - MaalikAllah has provided his believing servants with the means by which they can attain Paradise and be saved from Hell. One of them is the remembrance of Allah, Glorified and Exalted. The Hadīth points out the virtue of remembering Allah and says that it is one of the greatest means for a servant to be saved from fearful things, both in this worldly life and also in the Hereafter. Remembering Allah is also a reason for attaining salvation from Hell; an advantage that is counted among the greatest advantages of remembering Allah.
Abu Rib‘i Hanzhalah ibn Ar-Rabī‘ al-Usaydi, one of the scribes of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) reported: I met Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) and he said: 'How are you?' I said: 'Hanzhalah has turned into a hypocrite.' He said: 'Glory be to Allah, what are you saying?' I said: 'When we are in the company of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him), he reminds us of Paradise and Hellfire as if we are seeing them with our very eyes, and when we depart from his company, we attend to our wives, children, and business, and we forget much of that.' Abu Bakr said: 'By Allah, we do experience the same.' So I and Abu Bakr went to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, Hanzhalah has turned into a hypocrite.' Thereupon the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'And how is that?' I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, when we are in your company, you remind us of Hellfire and Paradise as if we are seeing them with our own eyes, then when we depart from you we attend to our wives, children, and business, and we forget much of that.' Thereupon the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'By Him in Whose hand is my soul, if your state of mind remains the same as it is in my presence and you are always busy in remembrance (of Allah), the angels will shake hands with you in your beds and in your paths but, Hanzhalah, time (should be devoted to prayer and meditation) and time (should be devoted to worldly affairs).' He said this thrice."
Narrated by MuslimHanzhalah told Abu Bakr As-Siddīq that his spiritual state when he was with the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was different from his state otherwise. When they (the Companions) were with the Prophet, they remembered Allah and the Hereafter, but when they became engaged with their children, wives, and worldly affairs, they had a different state of mind. So Hanzhalah feared that that was hypocrisy. Indeed, hypocrisy is to display a state other than what is on the inside. So when they told the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) of that, he told them that if they continued to be in the state they felt while they were with him, the angels would greet them by shaking their hands in whichever state they were in. However, moderation is required; an hour for the Lord and an hour for one's family and life.
