﴿ ثَانِيَ عِطۡفِهِۦ لِيُضِلَّ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِۖ لَهُۥ فِي ٱلدُّنۡيَا خِزۡيٞۖ وَنُذِيقُهُۥ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ عَذَابَ ٱلۡحَرِيقِ ﴾
سورة الحج
9. Bending his neck in pride[2] (far astray from the Path of Allâh), and leading (others) too (far) astray from the Path of Allâh. For him there is disgrace in this worldly life, and on the Day of Resurrection We shall make him taste the torment of burning (Fire).
﴿ فَبَدَّلَ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ قَوۡلًا غَيۡرَ ٱلَّذِي قِيلَ لَهُمۡ فَأَنزَلۡنَا عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ رِجۡزٗا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَفۡسُقُونَ ﴾
سورة البقرة
59. But those who did wrong changed the word from that which had been told to them for another, so We sent upon the wrong-doers Rijz (a punishment)[14] from the heaven because of their rebelling against Allâh’s obedience. (Tafsir At-Tabarî).
﴿ فَخَلَفَ مِنۢ بَعۡدِهِمۡ خَلۡفٞ وَرِثُواْ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ يَأۡخُذُونَ عَرَضَ هَٰذَا ٱلۡأَدۡنَىٰ وَيَقُولُونَ سَيُغۡفَرُ لَنَا وَإِن يَأۡتِهِمۡ عَرَضٞ مِّثۡلُهُۥ يَأۡخُذُوهُۚ أَلَمۡ يُؤۡخَذۡ عَلَيۡهِم مِّيثَٰقُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ أَن لَّا يَقُولُواْ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ إِلَّا ٱلۡحَقَّ وَدَرَسُواْ مَا فِيهِۗ وَٱلدَّارُ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةُ خَيۡرٞ لِّلَّذِينَ يَتَّقُونَۚ أَفَلَا تَعۡقِلُونَ ﴾
سورة الأعراف
They were then succeeded by other generations who inherited the Scripture, opting for the lowly gains[67], and saying, “We will be forgiven[68].” Yet if a similar gain[69] comes their way, they will seize it. Was not a covenant of the Scripture taken from them that they should not say about Allah except the truth, and they had studied its teachings? But the Home of the Hereafter is better for those who fear Allah. Do you not understand?
﴿ لَهُۥ مُعَقِّبَٰتٞ مِّنۢ بَيۡنِ يَدَيۡهِ وَمِنۡ خَلۡفِهِۦ يَحۡفَظُونَهُۥ مِنۡ أَمۡرِ ٱللَّهِۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُغَيِّرُ مَا بِقَوۡمٍ حَتَّىٰ يُغَيِّرُواْ مَا بِأَنفُسِهِمۡۗ وَإِذَآ أَرَادَ ٱللَّهُ بِقَوۡمٖ سُوٓءٗا فَلَا مَرَدَّ لَهُۥۚ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن دُونِهِۦ مِن وَالٍ ﴾
سورة الرعد
For him [i.e., each one] are successive [angels][631] before and behind him who protect him by the decree of Allāh.[632] Indeed, Allāh will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves. And when Allāh intends for a people ill,[633] there is no repelling it. And there is not for them besides Him any patron.
﴿ وَلَقَدۡ بَوَّأۡنَا بَنِيٓ إِسۡرَٰٓءِيلَ مُبَوَّأَ صِدۡقٖ وَرَزَقۡنَٰهُم مِّنَ ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتِ فَمَا ٱخۡتَلَفُواْ حَتَّىٰ جَآءَهُمُ ٱلۡعِلۡمُۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَقۡضِي بَيۡنَهُمۡ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ فِيمَا كَانُواْ فِيهِ يَخۡتَلِفُونَ ﴾
سورة يونس
We settled the Children of Israel in a blessed land and provided good things for their sustenance[61]. They did not differ until after knowledge had come to them[62]. Your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that over which they used to differ.
﴿ أَمۡ يَقُولُونَ نَحۡنُ جَمِيعٞ مُّنتَصِرٞ ﴾
سورة القمر
44. Or say they: "We are a great multitude, victorious?"
﴿ أَنِ ٱقۡذِفِيهِ فِي ٱلتَّابُوتِ فَٱقۡذِفِيهِ فِي ٱلۡيَمِّ فَلۡيُلۡقِهِ ٱلۡيَمُّ بِٱلسَّاحِلِ يَأۡخُذۡهُ عَدُوّٞ لِّي وَعَدُوّٞ لَّهُۥۚ وَأَلۡقَيۡتُ عَلَيۡكَ مَحَبَّةٗ مِّنِّي وَلِتُصۡنَعَ عَلَىٰ عَيۡنِيٓ ﴾
سورة طه
‘Put him into the casket, then cast it into the river. The river will carry it to the shore, and he will be picked up by one who is an enemy to Me and enemy to him.’ I bestowed upon you love from Myself[9] so that you would be brought up under My [watchful] Eye.
﴿ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّبِيُّ قُل لِّمَن فِيٓ أَيۡدِيكُم مِّنَ ٱلۡأَسۡرَىٰٓ إِن يَعۡلَمِ ٱللَّهُ فِي قُلُوبِكُمۡ خَيۡرٗا يُؤۡتِكُمۡ خَيۡرٗا مِّمَّآ أُخِذَ مِنكُمۡ وَيَغۡفِرۡ لَكُمۡۚ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٞ ﴾
سورة الأنفال
O Prophet, tell those captives who are in your custody, “If Allah knows of any good[45] in your hearts, He will give you something better than what has been taken from you, and will forgive you, for Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.”
﴿ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ حَقَّتۡ عَلَيۡهِمۡ كَلِمَتُ رَبِّكَ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ ﴾
سورة يونس
Indeed, those upon whom the decree of Allah is passed will not believe[64],
﴿ يَٰبَنِيٓ إِسۡرَٰٓءِيلَ قَدۡ أَنجَيۡنَٰكُم مِّنۡ عَدُوِّكُمۡ وَوَٰعَدۡنَٰكُمۡ جَانِبَ ٱلطُّورِ ٱلۡأَيۡمَنَ وَنَزَّلۡنَا عَلَيۡكُمُ ٱلۡمَنَّ وَٱلسَّلۡوَىٰ ﴾
سورة طه
O Children of Israel, We delivered you from your enemy, and We made an appointment with you[846] at the right side of the mount, and We sent down to you manna and quails,
‘Abdullāh ibn Mas‘ūd (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: In the evening, the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to say: "The evening has reached, and all the dominion belongs to Allah and praise be to Allah. There is no god but Allah, alone without any partner." The narrator said: "I believe he said along with them: 'To Him belongs the dominion, and to Him belongs praise, and He is Omnipotent over all things. My Lord, I ask You for the good of this night and the good of what follows it, and I seek refuge with You from the evil of this night and the evil of what follows it. My Lord, I seek refuge with You from laziness and woeful aging. My Lord, I seek refuge with You from torment of the fire and torment in the grave.' In the morning, he used to say: 'The morning has reached and all the dominion belongs to Allah.'"

It was from the guidance of the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) to say these blessed supplications in the morning and evening. "The evening has reached and the dominion belongs to Allah"; that's the time of evening has entered and the dominion continues therein to be for Allah exclusively. "And praise be to Allah"; that is we realize that the dominion therein belongs to Allah and all praise is due to Allah alone. "There is no god but Allah"; that is divinity belongs exclusively to Him. "O Allah, I ask You for the good of this night"; that is the goodness of it, as well as the goodness that occurs in it, and the goodness that rests in it. "And I seek refuge with You from the evil of this night and the evil (therein)"; that is from the nights and what lies therein of evil concerning religion and worldly affairs. "O Allah, I seek refuge with You from laziness"; that is from sluggishness in obedience while having the ability. "Senility" means aging that leads to the loss and weakness of some abilities, which is reversal to the most decrepit old age, because the purpose of life, represented in knowledge and action, are missed in such a stage. "And woeful aging"; that is senility and feeble-mindedness, and it was narrated with a different pronunciation meaning vanity. The meaning intended by "woeful aging" is the loss of reason that aging results in, as well as confusion and disorder in judgment, and the incapability to perform acts of obedience and other such things that worsen the condition. "And the torment in the grave"; that is from its punishment or from whatever causes it. "In the morning, he used to say that as well"; that's what he said in the evening. However, he would replace "the evening" with "the morning" and "the night" with "the day" saying: "O Allah, I ask You for the good of this day."
‘Abdullāh ibn ‘Abbās (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to say: "O Allah, I surrender to You, I believe in You, I rely on You, I return in repentance to You, I oppose Your opponents. I seek refuge with Your Honor, there is no god but You, that You do not lead me astray. You are the Ever-Living who never dies, yet the Jinn and humans will all die!"

The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) resorts to his Lord and seeks closeness to Him through supplication. Hence, he confirms that he submits himself to his Lord, entrusts Allah with all his affairs, and relies on none but Him. He also states that he returns to Him with a repentant heart and that he argues the enemies of Allah by His power, support, and victory through the proofs and evidence that Allah has granted him. The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) then seeks refuge in the power of Allah against doom by depriving him of following guidance and the right path. He confirms that by saying "there is no god but You", because Allah is the only One to be sought for refuge against evil things. Finally, the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) affirms that to his Lord belongs the real and everlasting life, whereas the humans and Jinn die. He mentioned humans and jinn in particular because they are the ones competent for religious duties and the target of Allah's message. So, they are the prime target (in comparison to the rest of the creatures).
Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Recite frequently: Yādha al-jalāl wa al-ikrām (O Possessor of Majesty and Bounty).”
Narrated by At-Termedhy - An-Nasaa’i - Narrated by Ahmad
The Arabic imperative 'alizzu' used in this Hadīth means be "persistent in doing something". The meaning: Hold on to this supplication and keep repeating it. This is a virtuous supplication as it includes a name of Allah said to be His most glorious Name, since it encompasses all the attributes of Lordship and Divinity.
Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: 'A man came to the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah, I intend to go on a journey, so give me provision." He said: "May Allah grant you piety as your provision!" He said: "Give me more." He said: "And may He forgive your sin!" He said: "Give me more." He said: "And may He make goodness easy for you wherever you are!"
Narrated by At-Termedhy - Ad-Daarimi
Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that a man wanted to travel, so he came to the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) to ask for his permission and to seek provision. Therefore, the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) supplicated for him, so that his supplication would serve as a provision for the man. The man's provision was for him to observe religious commands and avoid prohibitions. The man asked for more, anticipating more blessings. So the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) gladdened his heart with supplicating Allah to forgive his sins. The man asked for more, anticipating more blessings. So the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) made a final supplication that invokes both righteousness and success. He supplicated Allah to make good things of the worldly life and the Hereafter easy for this man wherever and whenever he happens to be.
Jābir (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "There is an hour at night that no Muslim happens to be asking Allah, the Almighty, any good of this world or the Hereafter except that He will give it to him, and this occurs every night."

Every night, there is a time when supplications are answered. No Muslim makes supplication during this time that does not involve something prohibited except that Allah answers it. It is the last third of the night as stated in other authentic texts.
Sa‘d ibn Abi Waqqās (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: We were with the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) when he said: "Is anyone of you unable to earn one thousand good deeds each day?" One of those present asked: "How can one earn one thousand good deeds?" He replied: "By glorifying Allah one hundred times, one thousand good deeds will be added to his record, or one thousand sins will be removed from his record."

The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) asks his Companions: Are you not able to obtain one thousand rewards each day? So, a person sitting with him asked: How can one obtain one thousand rewards easily? He said: When one says "Glory be to Allah" one hundred times, one thousand good deeds will be written for him, because the reward of one good deed is multiplied ten times, and one thousand of his sins will be erased.
Jābir (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever says 'Glory be to Allah and Praise is due to Him', a date-palm tree will be planted for him in Paradise."
Narrated by At-Termedhy - At-Tabaraani
The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) informs us that whoever glorifies Allah by saying "Glory be to Allah and Praise is due to Him", a date-palm tree will be planted for him in Paradise every time he says this.
Abu Umāmah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: Whenever the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) finished eating, he would say: "Allah be praised with an abundant, sincere, and blessed praise. O our Lord, You are not in need of anyone, and we cannot do without Your favor nor dispense with it."

Meaning of the Hadīth: The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to teach his Companions (may Allah be pleased with him) the Sunnah in act and word. This Hadīth includes one of the supplications that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to say immediately after finishing eating while starting to clear away the plates in front of him. “Allah be praised”, i.e. praise and thanks are due to Allah alone, without anyone else. “Abundant praise”, i.e. a plentiful praise that befits Allah's Majesty, Beauty, and Perfection, as well as abundant thanks equivalent to His uncountable blessings and bounties, as Allah, the Almighty, says: {And if you should count the favors of Allah, you could not enumerate them} [Sūrat An-Nahl: 18]. “Sincere praise”, i.e. free of any intent to show off or seek fame. “Blessed praise”, i.e. accompanied by the ultimate acceptance, because the act, which is blessed and accepted, is good, and vice versa. “You are not in need of anyone”, i.e. we praise Allah, Blessed and Exalted, as He is the One Who is Sufficient, Who feeds his creatures and is never fed, and is the One Who needs no one. We also praise Allah, the Almighty, because we cannot do without his favor nor dispense with it.
Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: Whenever the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) set out to participate in war, he would say: "O Allah, You are my Supporter and my Helper. With Your help I get strength, and with Your help I pounce upon the enemy and defeat it, and with Your help I fight."

Whenever the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) wished to launch a military campaign or set out on one, he would say what means: O Allah, You are my helper and supporter. It is by You alone that I carry out my deeds, and it is by You alone that I pounce upon the enemies of religion, and it is by You alone that I fight them.
Sahl ibn Sa‘d (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Two supplications are never rejected, or are rarely rejected: supplication made upon hearing the call to prayer and during battle when the two armies are engaged in fighting.”
Narrated by Abu Daoud
This Hadīth clarifies the virtue of Jihad, as Allah, the Exalted, answers the supplication of the Mujāhid when he is engaged in the battle. It also clarifies the virtue of the call to prayer as Allah, the Exalted, answers the supplication of the Muslim when the Adhān is announced and until the Iqāmah is announced.
Whoever feels remorse for a sin, Allah will guide him to repentance and help him fulfill it.
